Flicking For Characters

Under Consideration

Instead of hold and flick to access some characters how about just flicking towards the side of the hexagon the character is located on? That would greatly increase typing speed.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I'm not sure if I understood correctly though. Flick to the left is already used for delete, so how could Typewise know if you delete or wanted to write an accent?

By the way you can reduce the time for long-press.

Sorry for not clarifying better. If you flick towards the straight side of the hexagon where the character is located it will type the character. Left remains delete. For example: "!" is located on the top half and on the left of the hexagon. Instead of flicklng straight up you would flick diagonally to upper left. Japanese kanji keyboards operate that way.

Flick to the right is currently used for space (hidden feature 😉) but this could be changed of course.

As we're currently moving to another community platform, I posted your idea there too: https://typewise.featureupvote.com/suggestions/66685/flicking-for-special-characters

Hope that's ok 😊
